Hi!

Sorry I'm late to the conversation, but I thought I would suggest Bootlegger's Daughter by Margaret Maron, the first book in the Deborah Knott mystery series. It takes place in North Carolina and feature Deborah, an attorney, who reopens an unsolved murder that occurred 18 years prior. The daughter of the victim wants Deborah to investigate the case to finally find her mother's killer.
