There is also another nonfiction book that just came out in May called Free Days with George: Learning Life's Little Lessons from One Very Big Dog by Colin Campbell.
I know for sure that the dog is alive and well - he was at BEA in Chicago with his owner this past May and was a hit with the crowd!

Hi folks,
I'm putting together a list of dog books, but here's the kicker: I need the dog NOT to die at the end. So no (SPOILER ALERT!) Marley and Me, no Art of Racing in the Rain.
I'm pretty open to tone, setting, genre, etc. I just want the dog to play a big part in the book, and to NOT DIE.
Thank you!
