series. Romantic suspense.

Jennifer Crusie. Anyone But You. Romance

Nora Roberts. The Search. Romantic suspense.

Almost all of Kristan Higgins' books have a resident dog. Anything for
You has several dogs. One of the dogs dies, but another dog comes to
the rescue. Romance/women's fiction.

Sharon Sala. The Healer. The hero is a veterinarian, who rescues a
puppy from parvo, and heals other critters, as well. Paranormal
romantic suspense.

Nancy Warren. The Fourteen Million Dollar Poodle. Novellas in The Bad
Boys with Expensive Toys

James B. Garfield. Follow My Leader. (dogs guiding the blind)
