Andrea Camilleri and Donna Leon spring immediately to mind; see also Ngaio Marsh's _When in Rome_. In the McFarland Companions to Mystery Fiction series that I edit, the volume on Camilleri is no. 5 (written by Lucia Rinaldi).

Subject: Italian Murder Mystery Writers

Hello!

There was a collection development request not too long ago for books of Italian murder mystery writers. I'd say murder mysteries in Italy and/or murder mystery books by authors of Italian descent would work (I'm leaning more toward the latter, though). I'm open to any suggestions.

Thank you!
