I had a patron come in today and ask for help on a science fiction
series he had begun reading, but not finished.
He was pretty sure there were at least six books in the series, and
the phrase "Fleet Marine" kept coming up. He thought the said marines
had some kind of suits or armor that were chameleon/camouflage. From
the bits of plot description I got, it sounded like the marines were
part of a space operation that landed on planets when things went
wrong there.
He did not think it was Joe Haldeman's Forever War, or any of David
Weber's works. He also rejected Ian Douglas' Heritage, Legacy, and
Inheritance trilogies.
After researching for a while, I am still stumped. I know this patron
has read James S.A. Corey's Expanse series, but the Martian Marines
aren't as heavily featured as the ones in this unknown series appear
to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
