"Cheaper by the Dozen" is great! Fair warning: The ending is a bummer.

Dave Barry is always good for a laugh.

Hi,

I enjoy re-reading "Cheaper by the dozen" by Frank Gilbreth every few
years
because it is so good-humored.

Good luck.

I hope you share the complete list. We could all use more humor.

Subject: Humorous reads with limitations

Good afternoon,

I know this has probably been posted before so my apology for duplication.
This request is for a patron who is dying of cancer. He is requesting
humorous reads. I have been Googling like crazy. I didn't realize how
challenging it would be to find upbeat/humorous reads.

The books cannot be the following:

Contain death, cancer, or sadness in general No science fiction or
fantasy
Mysteries in general seem to be out because of the nature of the books -
death/murder/missing persons

Non-fiction/memoirs are not out because the patron enjoys Bill Bryson.

The patron has "A Dog's Purpose" by Cameron right now checked out ("Art of
Racing in the Rain" is out even though it is an awesome read) and he did
enjoy "The Help" by Stockett in the past.

I am still working with his daughter to get more ideas. Time is of the
essence right now so every read counts.

Anything you can think of we can try or if you have a list, please direct
me
or send it to me privately.

I really appreciate your help!

Maureen
