Hi, Sarah!
I use annotations from the lists put out by Baker & Taylor, as part of
their Book Leasing program. To see an example, go to:
btol.com
click on Libraries at the top
choose Public Libraries beneath that
click on Programs in the lefthand menu
choose Book Leasing
They put out their lists 2 months in advance - so the current one, for
December 2017, actually lists titles for February 2018. You can also
view earlier lists on the same page. If you choose the "printable web
version", you can copy and paste from there.
We use the book leasing program through B&T (saves our bacon on getting
extra copies, as well as short-lived pundit titles), but I also use
these lists to order the hottest titles for our collection. Then I make
up "coming soon" lists for our patrons (divided into Fiction and
Nonfiction, titles and alphabetical by author, with the B&T
annotations); these get printed out a month in advance, and my patrons
"have at it" in putting their names on reserve lists. I credit B&T for
the annotations. My patrons are so addicted to these lists, they remind
me when it's time to put out a new one each month.

Hello all,

I am looking for ready-made copy for booklists and I am wondering if you
have any suggestions. Publishers have annotations which can be found on
their websites and on Amazon (not to mention Brodart etc.).

Is it OK to use these annotations if credit is given? I suppose the
booklist could be headed by "annotations courtesy of publishers" or
something. I don't want to break any copyright laws and I don't have
time to write the annotations.

Thank you all in advance . . . and please feel free to reply off-list.
